Making a Difference

KeyMed believes that making money in itself is an empty pursuit and wants to put something back into the community in a positive sense. With this background, the company supports a number of charities, both in the UK and abroad, in a significant way. Equally, managers involve themselves in community projects, overseas aid initiatives, governorships of local schools and other forms of public service, while individual members of staff are encouraged to propose local charities for support by the company.

Some examples of organisations and projects recently supported by KeyMed are listed below:

Practical Assistance to Local Schools

Mildmay is a Christian organisation dedicated to improving the quality of life of men, women and children living with or affected by HIV and AIDS, primarily in resource-limited countries and communities.

Chernobyl Children’s Project (UK)

The Chernobyl Children’s Project UK (CCP) was launched in Manchester in 1995 and each summer it provides recuperative holidays in the UK for about 400 children from Belarus.  The project also organises holidays in clean parts of Belarus for children who cannot come to the UK.

CCP (UK) also delivers medical supplies and other humanitarian aid to Belarus, supports a children’s hospice, trains orphanage staff to prepare children for fostering and works with partners in Belarus to establish better care for children and young people with disabilities.
