Olympus offers a wide range of innovative biliary/pancreatic stents to provide verstaile and effective endoscopic drainage of the pancreatobiliary tract.
Stents are available in a variety of configurations and sizes to best suit the ductal anatomy of each patient. |

DoubleLayer Biliary Stents, PBD-421/422 The Olympus DoubleLayer biliary stents feature a unique two-layer construction, with each layer composed of a different material with distinct properties. |
The inner layer is a specially processed fluorinated material with superior water-repellant properties to minimise bile adhesion, while the external layer of stainless steel mesh, coverd by a polyamide elastomer, provides the optimal stiffness for smooth insertion. This unique design allows the stent to pass easily through a strictured bile duct. |
There are no integral flaps or side holes in the DoubleLayer stents, as some clinical reports indicate these features may lead to an accumulation of bile in the stent lumen. Instead, the DoubleLayer stents have four external flaps at each end for secure placement.
DoubleLayer stents are available in two designs - duodenal bend type (model PBD-421) and centre bend type (model PBD-422). The PBD-421 is available in lengths(between flaps) of 30 to 150mm in 10mm increments, and the PBD-422 is similarly obtainable in 10mm increments in lengths of 40 to 150mm. All models are 0.035" guidewire compatible, and at 10Fr are compatible with scopes having a channel size of 4.2mm.
DoubleLayer stents may be used with either the Olympus MAJ-510 pre-assembled or MAJ-255 conventional reusable stent insertion kits. |

PBD-210/211 Biliary Stents The PBD-210 and PBD-211 biliary stents are made of a fluoroplastic material which features a water-repellent contact surface, resulting in less bile adhesion to the interior surface of the stent. |
The PBD-210 is a straight type and the PBD-211 is a duodenal bend type, to suit different patient anatomies. Both the straight and the duodenal bend types are available in lengths (between flaps) of 30mm, 50mm, 70mm, 90mm, 120mm and 150mm.

PBD-211 range (duodenal bend type) |
Various stent diameters are offered. The PBD-210 and PBD-211 are available in four different French sizes: 7Fr, 8.5Fr, 10Fr and12 Fr. Standard duodenoscopes with a 3.2mm diameter channel can accommodate the 7Fr or 8.5Fr sizes, and 4.2mm channels will accept the 10Fr and 12Fr sizes. All models are compatible with 0.035" guidewires and either pre-assembled or conventional insertion kits.

PBD-3Z/4Z/5Z/6Z/7Z Biliary Stents Contrast medium impregnated polyethylene provides the perfect combination of flexibility and stiffness.
Available in diameters of 7Fr, 10Fr, 12Fr, and 14Fr, the PBD-3Z, 4Z, 5Z and 6Z stents are all straight type, provided with integral securing flaps. The PBD-7Z is of a pigtail design. |
| |
The straight models are available in six lengths (PBD-3/4Z: 25 to 125mm, in 20mm increments, PBD-5/6Z: 30 to 90 in 20mm increments, plus 120 & 150mm) and the pigtail model is available in 5 lengths (30, 40, 70, 100 & 150mm).
The contrast medium impregnated polyethylene offers just the right combination of flexibility and stiffness. The tapered design of the distal end facilitates insertion into the bile duct and the side holes are designed to stay increase bile flow.
The 7Fr models are compatible with 2.8mm channels, 10Fr with 3.7mm channels, 12Fr with 4.2mm channels, and 14Fr with 5.5mm channels. All models are compatible with 0.035" guidewires and either pre-assembled or conventional insertion kits. |

PBD-230/234 Pancreatic Stents Soft material and innovative contoured design minimise damage to the pancreatic duct.
With conventional pancreatic stents, hardness of the material and shape risked damaging the pancreatic duct. The |
| Olympus PBD-230 and PBD-234 take a radically different approach, by using an exclusive soft material and innovative contoured design to minimise such risks. The PBD-230 and PBD-234 models are available in various diameters and lengths. |
The PBD-230 and PBD-234 are available in two contour types, three diameters (7, 8.5 & 10 Fr), and four lengths (straight type: 20, 40, 60 & 80mm, S-shaped type: (60, 80, 100 & 120mm). |
| |
This makes it easy to choose a stent suitable for the specific anatomy of the pancreatic duct and the degree of stenosis in each case, the S-shape perfectly corresponds to the anatomy of the pancreatic duct and helps to prevent deformation. In addition, a number of side holes prevent clogging by pancreatic juice, ensuring smooth drainage.
All models are compatible with 3.2mm channels, 0.035" guidewires and either pre-assembled or conventional insertion kits. |

FG-44NR Rotatable Rat Tooth Grasping Forceps The alligator jaws with interlocking rat teeth at their distal ends make these reusable grasping forceps ideal for the removal of plastic biliary stents. The rotatable jaw design allows for easier positioning when approaching the target stent. |
| |
Constructed of easy-to-clean materials, the FG-44NR can be reprocessed by ultrasonic cleaning and autoclave sterilization. Compatible with channel sizes of 2.8mm and above, and suitable for grasping stents from 5Fr to 14Fr. | |
